Perfect opportunity for honing photography skills.

By now you should realise that not only am I passionate about Wedding Photography I also love many other styles of photography, portrait, Landscape through to interiors. There are some incredible places to hone your photography skills around the Somerset and Bath area, some fabulous National Trust properties are just on our doorstep, In fact just 20 minutes from us here in Beckington there is the beautiful Stourhead property near Mere.

The summer arrived yesterday and as we didn’t have a wedding to photograph we took a well-earned trip to one of our favourite places; the beautiful Barrington Court Somerset.

Barrington Court is a Tudor manor House; I can remember visiting this House when it was filled with furniture, unfortunately due to the company that provided the furnishings going into liquidation a few years ago the interior furnishings are no longer there, imagination is required when exploring the interior however it doesn’t disappoint, in some ways its better as you can now use your imagination when exploring this magnificent venue.

This magnificent House was saved from ruin by the famous Lyle family in the early 1900s, and was even a home for young evacuees during the Second World War.

With the Gertrude Jekyll inspired gardens, floral displays that never disappoint and for those of you that enjoy the indulgence of an English cream tea, you won’t be disappointed!

We photographed a wedding here a few years ago and The Court was the perfect location for Anna & Stephens Wedding. Their wedding ceremony was held in the family library and you could almost sense the Lyle Family enjoying this beautiful summer wedding, having the opportunity to use the gardens for their wedding photography was just perfect.

For you lovers of History, this venue recently provided the backdrop for the BBC adaptation for Wolf hall.
